Frequently Asked Questions
WHAT AND HOW DO WE APPLY PESTICIDES INTO YOUR HOMES?
When applying pesticides into your home, Anchor Pest Management LLC uses indoor-labeled chemicals that are heavily diluted with water. We always go at or slightly below the recommended application rate stated on the label.
The chemical is applied mostly into cracks and crevices, as well as any hidden voids that may be out of sight. The idea is to create a trap for the insects inside their living spaces, which is usually in walls, crawlspaces, furniture cracks, cabinetry and other areas. The outside will also be treated with an exterior labeled pesticide. Since 85 percent of all pest problems derive from the outside, this barrier will stop them before entering your home.
ARE THESE CHEMICALS SAFE FOR YOU AND YOUR LOVED ONES?
We have been using the same chemical in Charleston, SC homes since the business started. There is no odor and no danger to your loved ones.
IS THERE AN ODOR & HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?
Not with the chemical that is applied into your home for routine maintenance. Some chemicals have odors, but are usually never needed on the interior of your home. If there is a need to apply such a chemical, we will be sure to inform you and take the necessary precautionary steps to ensure you do not come in contact with them.
WHAT ARE THE RESULTS AND WHAT DO WE DO IF WE ARE STILL HAVING PROBLEMS?
There is always going to be a chance that you will find a “live” insect in your home, but do not worry, let the chemical run its course. Sometimes it may take a little longer until the chemical finally takes full effect. Should you have problems with insects between your regular services, please give us a call and we will come out at no additional charge.
HOW DOES THE WEATHER AFFECT TREATMENTS LONGEVITY WISE?
The outdoor chemical is designed to last through wet weather conditions, but can subside sooner if conditions stay saturated. Our treatments are tailored to weather conditions in Charleston.

Please note: One chemical does not eliminate all pests. Sometimes it is necessary to try alternate methods of controlling insects inside or outside of your dwelling. We are trained to utilize non-chemical strategies first before resorting to traditional treatments. Additionally, where and when needed, Anchor Pest Management LLC will supply and monitor tamper resistant bait stations for the control of rodents if requested by the homeowner.
